![]() She didn't know why it bothered her so much. But-"but none of my books said anything about house-elves," Hermione said. "First years, leave your luggage on the train the house-elves will get them." After all, none of her books mentioned anything about any elves.īefore Hermione could come to a decision though, an older boy wearing a prefect's badge walked past the door, announcing loudly. Hermione was quite dubious of Harry's claim, especially since she wouldn't put it past him to pull her leg so. Kinda scary-looking actually, but they're harmless. anyway no, they're uh, short, and thin, with big eyes and flappy bat ears. Not the Tolkien kind though," a wistful expression came over Harry's face, "God, I wish they were the Tolkien kind. "Can't say I'm surprised, really, people hardly talk about them. Harry shrugged in a way that suggested that he'd expected her words. Hogwarts, A History never mentioned anything of the sort." Hermione began to climb up to bring down her luggage, but Harry said, "don't worry, leave it. The Hogwarts Express had gotten to Hogsmeade. The train slowed and came to a stop then, and Hermione and Harry went to the window and spotted lit houses in the nightscape of a snowy village. Hermione just shook her head, easily realising the joke for what it was. She was completely antagonistic towards me, kept going on and on quit fidgeting, don't touch that, you broke it, he's getting away!" Harry sighed as he walked back into the compartment. It was a bit of a learning curve, but Madam Malkin was ever so helpful, she taught me all about how to properly wear and care for my robes." Plus she got the feeling Harry never felt the need to hide his opinion from anybody. She was starting to understand that Harry Potter's mind worked in rather mysterious ways. Hermione wasn't sure if that was supposed to be a compliment or not, but she thought it might be. Add a pointy hat to that getup and you'll be right at home in a Disney film." "Well, well, Hermione Granger, look at you. He was already in his uniform, having changed first he hadn't even bothered to ask Hermione to leave when he had, simply throwing his robes on over his jeans and T-shirt. The boy in question turned and regarded her. It was a good thing the little window on the door had a curtain, otherwise she wouldn't have felt comfortable changing in the compartment even though Harry was outside. ![]() Hermione made some final adjustments to her robes before sliding the door open. PS: Hagrid's accent is annoying to write, so I trimmed it down a bit. Ultimately he's not on the same level as Grindelwald, but the potential certainly was there, and it might be cool to see a Voldemort who tried to recover his health (but was still evil - there are a lot of Tom Riddle Redemption fics out there, but I can't think of any where he tries to fix himself but is still mustache-twirlingly evil) It's also not really clear that Voldemort gives a damn about blood purity, being a half-blood himself if he were to go international it's entirely possible he would shift to supporting magical supremacy and simply kill anybody in his organization that complained about the shift. If his obsession with safety hadn't damaged him so severely it would be a much fairer comparison between him and Grindelwald. Modern Voldemort is a pale shadow of 60s!Voldemort, who was a shadow of pre-diary, pre-cup, pre-locket Tom Riddle. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart.I don't think it's clear that Voldemort's sanity is helped at all by his horcruxes it's always seemed to me that making them in the first place was what destabilized him, that and spending over a decade as a wraith. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric.
